Evie Shares. Bathwater.

The other night, while Evie was in the tub, she gave me a drink of her water. She's a good sharer.
But then she took a drink. Even Max and Me know that is a bit strange.

Max tried to get more water from her, but it seems Evie was done sharing.

No worries, Max found something else. Ew.

Good Weekend

Max and Me forgot to tell you but we got real lucky and our neighbor Annika came over to play with us on Friday night. Evie cried a bit when Michele and Kristin left, but Max and Me think she's just trying to make them feel bad. She was laughing and playing before they got to their car. Anyhow, today we had new friend over. This one is also named Michele, but spelled funny. It was a bit confusing to Evie. But she warmed right up to her.
And then Evie got to try on Michelle's shoes. This, by the way, was after Michelle tried to teach Evie some ballet. Max and Me aren't sure that ballet is what that kid should be doing. Sumo wrestling, sure - heck, even swimming. But ballet? Anyhow, Evie liked the shoes. But Max was jealous.

Uh-huh. Now you've seen a dog wearing heels. Go figure.

Later, Kristin decided that the other Michelle should take a picture of all of us. I wasn't having any of it, so they bribed me with a treat.

Thanks for a fun afternoon, other Michelle!!

Urgent Help Needed

Max and Me were catching up on the news today, and we saw a horrible article out of Michele's hometown. Authorities raided huge puppy mills. Hundreds of dogs were taken, including poodles, and most are pregnant, and some are sick. Anyhow, it made Max and Me real sad.

We told Michele and Kristin about it and they said that, even though our household is on something called a "budget" we could go online and make a donation to the Skagit Humane Society to help them through this. Then Max and Me thought - I bet some of our friends would do that too. Won't you help?
Please...

or go straight to donate: http://www.skagithumane.com/ or http://www.savingpetsoneatatime.org/

Thank you everybody.

We're Such Political Poodles

Max and Me know we've been all Obama all the time lately, so today we want to give a shout-out to state Senator Ken Jacobsen:

for introducing some fabulous legislation.
The text of his bill: The holder of a spirits, beer, and wine restaurant license, a beer and/or wine restaurant license, or a tavern license may allow well-behaved leashed dogs accompanied by their owners on the premises during business hours.

Do you know how awesome that will be once it passes? Max and Me are going to party!

Our Cool Cousins

Turns out, Max and Me weren't the only ones glued to the TV yesterday. Our cousins Rosie and Bean celebrated the day with their mommies too! What a great day. Thanks President Obama. We wish you well.

The Best Day of Our Lives

Max and Me admit we are still young. And that we live relatively great lives. But today was the best ever. First, the whole family watched as Barack Obama became our President.

Even the Chief Justice messing up the oath didn't bother us...although, really, he chooses the Oath of the President to improvise? Really?
We were blown away by President Obama's speech.

Even Evie loved the whole morning. Max and Me didn't think she could pay attention the whole time, but she seemed to understand the importance of the day.

And then, just when we thought the day couldn't get better...we got to ride in Michele's new car and went to our very favorite place. And got cheeseburgers!!!!!

Of course, we couldn't eat in Michele's new car and had to take it home, but still, it was worth the wait.

It was delicious, but Max wanted more.

And we got more! Fries!!!!! YYYYUUUUMMM!

Like we said, today was the best day of our lives. Just don't ask which part was better, okay?

Martin Luther King, Jr Day

Michele and Evie are home today, to celebrate Dr. King's birthday. First, we all watched his "I Have A Dream" speech, which CNN was kind enough to show in its entirety.

Evie seemed to really like watching Dr. King.

Later, Michele took Evie to the Tacoma Dome for a MLK Day Celebration. Max and Me had to stay home, no poodles allowed. Yes, more poodle discrimination. Max and Me don't understand how people who suffered such oppression can turn around and oppress others. If we can figure that out, maybe we could defeat things like Prop 8.

Anyway, they said there was awesome music at the dome, and Evie rocked out. Michele didn't take any pictures though, so we have nothing to share with you. Happy MLK Jr Day everyone. And yes, Max and Me can hardly wait 'til tomorrow.

Colds All Around

Our household has been a bit under the weather lately. Evie seems to have it the worst. We'll spare you the details, but even Max and Me think what comes out of her nose is gross. And that's saying something. Since she doesn't feel well, she gets whatever she wants. Even more than usual. Like here, she had her binky, her dog dog and got to sit on Michele.

Later though, we all got a story. It appears from this picture that perhaps Michele is the most sick. Don't tell her we said that, okay?

This morning Evie seemed to feel a little better and did some dancing.

Apparently she is into break dancing.

And then she got to put her cute new coat on and go out to breakfast with Kristin. Max and Me aren't even jealous cuz we've already had a walk this morning, plus we got to stay home with Michele. And you what that means - naptime!

Finally!

Some of our most loyal readers have been complaining about our lack of blogging. Well. Max and Me are having computer troubles. And Michele has been hogging Kristin's computer. So Max and Me (okay, mainly Max) finally convinced her to give it up.

Max and Me are happy that we can blog again, but kinda mad cuz Evie gets all the good stuff around the house. You remember last summer, when Max and Me helped Grandma and Grandpa make jam? Guess who gets to eat it?

Look - she doesn't even try the bread.

But boy does she like the jelly. It was marionberry, Max and Me's favorite.

After making that mess, Evie put on Michele's shoes. Nobody thought she could walk in them, but she did.

All over.

Max got super jealous.

Yep - you guessed it. Sometimes I wonder if he really is a dog.

A Little Party

Max and Me had our friend Rowan over the other night. He brought his mom and dad. And our bestest friend Rebecca came. She made cupcakes. And gave a whole one to Evie. Max and Me think she's trying to be Evie's bestest friend. And then Rebecca showed Evie how to rub cupcake all over - even in her hair. Max and Me are pretty sure Rebecca is not trying to be Michele and Kristin's bestest friend.

Evie sure seemed to like it though.

Even though Max and Me didn't get cupcakes of our own, Max was still a good sport and helped clean up.

Max especially liked cleaning Evie's fingers. Poor Rowan though, he only got water...
After her cupcakes, Evie was a little crazy and ran around.
She seemed pretty happy with herself.

After she got her pajamas on, Evie was still wound up, so she and Rowan did some dancing. Rebecca "helped" Rowan.

And then Rebecca made Rowan apologize. Some things Max and Me just can't explain.

That party wore us out. Max and Me just wanted to go to bed.

Random

Here's Evie giving Max a high five. Why you ask?

Because he's wearing her new shoes, the ones she doesn't like. Unlike Evie, Max and Me think Converse are pretty cool.

Evie has been real tired lately. Michele says it is because of the new school, something called a Montessori program. Max and Me feel sorry for her. Here she is, reading herself a bedtime story. She just says "night night" and then takes off for her room. Sometimes the rest of us are still eating dinner. Which explains why she has to read to herself. Poor kid.

Max and Me, you might know, enjoy a nice nap.

We really enjoy it.
