A Walk In The Park

This morning, while Max and Me and Michele rested, Kristin took David on a walk to Wright Park. They got to go inside the conservatory, where David really liked all the pretty flowers.

He said some of them smelled real nice too.

His favorite part, though, was the fish. Glub glub!

Looks like all the fun wore him out!

Maybe next time, Max and Me will get to come along. We love that park!

Best. Day. Ever.

This afternoon, when David got up from his nap, we all piled in the car.

That's right! Dog Park!!!!

We even got to play with a really big poodle!

Max and Me were so happy, we were running all over. I even caught some air!

Even though David's not a dog, he really liked running around and playing too.

What a great day!

Play Date!

Max and Me were worried David might feel lonely without Marley this weekend, so we invited our pal Bergen over to play. First, the boys sized each other up. Pretty even match, Max and Me think.
Then, David wanted to show Bergen how to rock the boat. Ber wasn't so sure at first.

But once the boys got on the same side, he got into it. A little.

Then they tipped the boat over and had a jam session on the table.

Finally, they played some hoops.

Thanks for coming by, Bergen.

The Excellent Adventures of David and Michele

This morning, as Max and Me tried to sneak in some extra beauty sleep, David and Michele made plans for a great day. "Cheers!" they said.

Michele sprung David early from daycare and went to the park. David really liked the crazy twister toy. He said it went round and round, real fast!

When they got home, he got to help Michele cook. Mmmm, fajitas. Almost as good as cheeseburgers.

Right before bed, they read his favorite dog book.

Yea, he really likes that one.

And Then There Was One

Today was David's first full day as an only child. Max and Me think he tried real hard to make us not miss Evie and Marley. First, he let Kristin read him lots of stories in the sun.

Since there was only one kid, there was room on Kristin's lap for Max and Me. It was a little crowded, but Max didn't mind.

Later, David acted just like Marley. Max couldn't believe it. Neither could Michele.

Then, after what seemed like hours of begging, David got to do his favorite thing - rock the boat!

But before bed, he talked Kristin into some more stories. Max and Me don't know what's gotten into that kid, but we think we like it.

A Visit From Evie

Nothing like a visit from Evie to take our minds off missing Marley. Evie hadn't seen the new rocking toy - but she loved it. She calls it the boat.

After a bit of rocking the boat, Michele and the kids were sleepy.

Michele clearly needed a break, so Max and Me and Kristin read some stories. Felt just like old times. Almost.

After some fun in the outside sun, David and Evie tried rocking the boat on the same side.

Yea, Max and Me think they liked it.

In case you'd like to see the boat in action, Max and Me shot a little video of this morning's action. Fair warning: there is singing. And it ain't pretty.

Marley-Toes

Michele and Kristin said we had to fill up Marley's love tank before he left. First, we took him to his daycare, to say good bye to his favorite teacher.
Then we had some serious play time.
A little peek-a-boo.

Some tickling.

And, of course, some trying to blind Michele.

Bye-bye big guy. We're gonna miss you.

Sad, Sad News

Max and Me just learned that tomorrow, Marley will be moving back home to his mom and dad's house. Max and Me are really gonna miss that guy. Nobody else in the whole family gives such good kisses.

And for sure nobody else is as generous about it.

Max and Me remember when Marley first came here last summer, he was such a little guy.

Bye bye Marley, we're gonna miss you.

All About the Irish

For a St. Patrick's Day treat, Michele made the boys mini cupcakes - carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. David really enjoyed his first one. He got a little messy.

But he was trying to be careful.

Marley preferred his without frosting, so he won the clean hands award. But really, without frosting? Max and Me knew there was something kooky about that kid.

When David finished that first cupcake, he politely used the sign for "more" to ask for another. That kid is really turning on the charm lately. Michele and Kristin think it is cute. Max and Me are suspicious.

Marley got a second cupcake too, but again, no frosting.

David gobbled up three in all!!

And then seemed surprised that his hands were so dirty.

Marley was so happy he stayed clean. But he still had to get a bath.

Happy St. Paddy's Day everyone!

Roadtrip!

Michele and Kristin took the boys back to Bellingham this weekend. Max and Me stayed behind, again. When the boys woke up, they wanted to hit the pool.
But when they got their swim trunks on, they headed for the wrong door. Silly boys.

We'd like to show you pics of the swimming, but our Aunts Nancy and Loretta forbid any pool photography. There are some good shots of them reading to the boys after the swim.

They all went out to visit our great Uncle Mel and Aunt Judy, but, again, no pictures, except this one of David and Marley's first waterskiing lesson. Cousin Sheryl and Bill promised they'd take them real soon.

After the visit, they stopped to play at the Lynden City Park. Michele said she used to play there when she was a kid, but she sure didn't have these cool toys. David got to drive a tractor.

And he loved the tire swing.

Michele and David went down a big slide together.
Yikes!

Then they climbed up a really tall tower and looked down. Marley said it was cool, but a little scary.
He said the music maker was more their style.

The best part though, was the creek. This Michele remembers. Just not the fancy bridge. The boys loved watching the water flow by.

They could've stayed for hours.

Especially Marley. He was mesmerized.

But they had to go. Kristin wanted to go shopping. They found a feed store that sold chicks. Max and Me heard we almost got some chickens!

That would be fun!
