This is Max blogging solo. Blue & Me are currently fighting.
It all started last night over a bone.
Blue & Me each had our own special cow bone. We were enjoying them a lot. Our doctor says we should have one cow bone a week for our dental health.
Blue is always trying to dominate me. I'll spare you the rude things Blue does to me. I'm about twice as big as Blue, so I usually put up with his hijinks. Actually, I think Blue suffers from Little Dog Syndrome.
So, last night Blue thought he'd played a great trick by sneaking outside, with me trapped in the house. Blue then took possession of my bone. I watched this through the window. I was furious.
Kristin did not know the nefarious deed that Blue was doing, so she innocently let me outside. I gently walked up to Blue and my bone and stood there, quite clearly indicating I wanted my bone back.
Instead, Blue savagely attacked me. I defended myself as gently as I could. Soon all hell broke loose as Kristin and Michele rushed out to separate Blue from me. Kristin then took me inside, to comfort me, which is what you see in the badly focused photo that Michele took of the aftermath of last night's savage poodle battle.

Grandpa Texting While Our Uncle Had A Baby
Max & Me had our neighbors, Derek and Celesta and their little puppy named Rowan, over for BBQ Burgers.
Max & Me got our own big bones while everyone else had those burgers and cole slaw and rosemary roasted potatoes.
Grandma and Grandpa had some blackberry wine before dinner. Soon Grandma was resting like you see in the photo and Grandpa stayed busy doing text messaging on his phone.
Our Uncle was being the House Monkey, whatever that means. Near as Max & Me can tell, Kristin and Michele bark orders and our Uncle does what they tell him to do.
Later in the evening our Uncle was told to take care of Derek and Celesta's little puppy. Grandma couldn't believe he was doing such a thing and had to come away from her Mariner baseball game to check if everything was all right. The little puppy was soon taken away from our Uncle.
The reason that our Uncle was being Kristin and Michele's House Monkey today was this morning Kristin went up to the Tropics to take a shower. Our Uncle thought she'd gone down to the Arctic.
Our Uncle told Michele he was going up to the Tropics to do his yoga routine and for no one to come up there because he doesn't wear any clothes while he's doing this. Michele did not tell our Uncle that Kristin was upstairs.
So, our Uncle was doing his yoga routine, Kristin came out of the shower and both our Uncle and Kristin let out a loud yell that was heard all over the house.
And that's how our Uncle became the House Monkey. Meanwhile, Max & Me did not get taken on a walk today. This made us cranky. So, tonight we had the biggest fight ever. It was great fun.
Wednesday With Michele
Today is Max & Me's favorite day of the week. Michele is home all day long. That's us taking a nap on Michele this morning. I'm the one laying on top of Max.
Today Max & Me have a long chore list. The lawn needs mowing. The car needs washing. We need to reorganize the kitchen.
On Saturday Max & Me are going up to a place called Bay View State Park. We hope we get to play with our cousin, Spencer Jack. He's fun to play with.
Grandma and Grandpa are supposed to get back here today. Max & Me hope they bring us a good treat.

Max, Uncle D & Me Are Cold and Wet In Tacoma

Max & Me can't remember when it's been this cold. Of course, Max & Me aren't exactly known for iron clad memories. We just sort of live day to day looking for stuff to be happy about. And food. Lately Max & Me have been eating well at the People Eating Table, with Grandpa and our Favorite Uncle giving us goodies right off their plates. Michele and Kristin have given up on stopping them. Today is so cold and it's been raining so much that Max & Me and our Uncle have been trying to warm up undercovers. When that didn't work we tried running the stairs. That got us a little bit warm.
Above you see Max under cover. This was after our 1st stair running session and before the 2nd. We went outside for a bit between under cover sessions and running sessions and got a bit wet. So, Max & Me needed a drying off, a service our Uncle had to perform. Getting wet in the icy rain did not help us get warm. That is what led to the 2nd stair running session and the current under the cover session that you see in these photos. Brrrrrrr.
Our Uncle had the good sense not to go out in the rain, so Max & Me did not have to dry him off. He was shivering so bad, though, that Max & Me tucked him into the little army cot he sleeps on up in the room called The Tropical Zone. Max & Me don't know what that means.
Max & Me Making Pizza Dough
This morning Kristin took Max & Me on a really long walk. Then, when we got back here, Max & Me and Kristin showed our Uncle how to make pizza dough.
That means tonight Max & Me are making pizza. We think one will be Canadian Bacon with Pineapple. The second one may have green peppers and mushrooms. I hope Max & Me got enough cheese.
The long walk and kneading dough had Max & Me in serious need of a nap by early this morning. That's Max you see curled up and snoring on his bed.
I think we'll leave Max snoring and my Uncle and Me might go get a key made and then drop in on Kristin. That's always fun. Those ladies who work with Kristin always make such a fuss over me because I'm so darn cute and cuddly.
Maybe Max & Me will make a video of us making pizza tonight. Stay tuned.

Michele & Kristin Are Back from D.C.
Max & Me went to the airport with our Uncle last night to pick up Michele and Kristin. We had to get gas on the way. We told our Uncle that gas at the Puyallup Indian Casino had gone under 4 bucks. So, that's where we went. But the line was so long, we knew Michele and Kristin would be on the ground before we were able to get gas.
So, we found another place to get gas in a town named Fife. It was not under 4 bucks a gallon.
Max & Me were worried our Uncle was not going to get us to the airport on time. But we did.
Michele and Kristin were happy to see us. They were jumping up and down.
When we got back home Michele and Kristin gave Max & Me all sortsa souvenirs from Washington D. C., like a little version of the Washington Monument and little uni-body poodle t-shirts that say "Marriage is so Gay" on them. Max & Me don't know what that means, but Grandma and Grandpa laughed when they saw us in our new t-shirts.
This morning Max & Me have been helping Michele wash clothes by taking them out of her suitcase for her.

Max & Me and a Busy Saturday
That's Max sitting on Grandma's lap. Max & Me like to give Grandma lottsa kisses. But she doesn't seem to like that too much. That doesn't stop us.
This morning Max & Me took our Uncle on his longest walk with us yet. We walked to Wright Park, then walked all over the park, sitting for awhile at a picnic table so I could monitor the squirrel situation. I love to chase squirrels.
After Wright Park Max & Me led our Uncle by our favorite McDonald's. But nothing good, like a Cheeseburger, came of it.
Tomorrow is a big day. Michele and Kristin get home. But before that our bad mannered cousins, Rosie the Rat Dog and Bean the Wiener Dog are coming over to visit us. Our Uncle is leaving early in the morning to spend all day at something called The Fremont Sunday Market. It's in a place called Fremont, in Seattle, that seceded from the Union. Whatever that means.
Grandma and Grandpa have let Max & Me alone for awhile while they go to get chocolate at Brown & Haleys. And to go to some store by Brown & Haleys so our Grandma can get a sweatshirt. It is really cold here.

Our Uncle's Jogging Problems
Well, our favorite Uncle took Max & Me jogging this morning. We only made it a couple miles when disaster struck. It was fun up til that point. Max & Me were sweating like a pair of fat pigs in this super hot Tacoma summer sun. Max & Me are spending the rest of the day in the shade.
Max & Me have to tell you, we are eating so good with our Grandma and Grandpa here. Last night we BBQed and Max & Me learned we like two new things. Pork Chops and Crab. Yummmmm!

Running Our Uncle Ragged in Tacoma
Max & Me got up real early this morning. The paper had arrived. It was 5am. Our Grandma and Grandpa got here late last night. Grandma gave Max & Me bones to chew on. Please don't tell Kristin and Michele. They don't like us to have anything good to eat.
Max & Me tried to wake Grandma and Grandpa up at 5am, but our Uncle came upstairs and made us go outside. He then made coffee.
When our Uncle was sitting at his computer, drinking coffee, Max & Me ran downstairs to terrorize him. Max had his squeaky toy in his mouth that he likes to shake back and forth while he growls. Our Uncle got up and chased us all over the house. It was great fun. But Grandma and Grandpa slept through all that noise.
After breakfast our Uncle took Max & Me on a jog. I was not too cooperative. By then Grandma was up and I felt like visiting her, rather than put myself through the ordeal of my inept Uncle having a hard time putting on my simple collar.
After about a half an hour we were ready to go. This time we jogged quite a long ways. When we got back we were still energetic, like you see in the photo at the top. But a few minutes later Max & Me passed out in the living room.
Max is now down in the basement, passed out on our Uncle's couch.
Meanwhile, Grandma and Grandpa went to McDonald's. They had coupons for free food. But they didn't take Max & Me. Maybe they'll bring us back a cheeseburger.
P.S. Kristin called us from the Washington Monument this morning! Max & Me don't know what that is, but it sounded cool.

Our Bumbling Uncle
Sorry. Max & Me have no photos of this morning's incident with our Uncle. There was too much going on for pictures or video to be taken.
The photo you see here was taken this afternoon. After our Uncle came back here with Cheeseburgers. Again. He pretended to throw pieces of Cheeseburgers out onto the yard and then snapped photos of Max & Me's futile search for non-existent Cheeseburger pieces. He seemed to think this was amusing. Max & Me didn't find it all that amusing.
About 8am our Favorite Uncle asked Max & Me if we wanted to go on a walk. Max & Me are always up for a walk. We indicated our eagerness.
The first problem came when our Uncle could not figure out how to put my special harness on me. Michele gave him extensive lessons just 2 days before. He tried over and over again. A couple times when he tried to arrange the harness, I just walked away and lay down on the rug in the living room with my head on the floor.
Then he'd call me over for another try. On the 5th or 6th attempt he finally got it right. Then it was Max's turn.
Max has a different collar than mine. He has something over his mouth that keeps the collar from coming off. Michele gave no collar lessons to our Uncle for Max. After about a half hour of trying to figure it out, he gave up and put the collar on Max without the safety feature. I knew no good would come of this.
Our walk began. All was going fine til our Uncle yanked on Max's leash and off came his collar. Luckily our Uncle is way faster than Michele or Kristin and he was able to quickly grab Max before he could run away.
The collar was put back on and now our Uncle realized he had to keep Max in front of him.
Max is constantly stopping to sniff stuff. I don't do this. I find it disgusting. Our Uncle figured out that if he got us running Max didn't stop to sniff.
So, we ran into our alley and ran and ran and ran til we came to another dog. He was leashed to a big lady in a muumuu. We stopped and barked, Max & Me that is, our Uncle does not know how to bark. Or chooses not to.
We left the alley to avoid that muumuu lady, and her dog, and went around the block and back into the alley again. All went well for block after block.
And then squirrels appeared. I like to chase squirrels. Max does not pay any attention to them. But this was 4 squirrels. I had to try and catch one. I don't think our Uncle liked what I was doing. After awhile we started running again.
It took a long time to get out of the house, but in the end, Max & Me had a fun run with our Uncle. But Max & Me wonder if he'll put himself through that again...time will tell.
Max & Me & a McDonald's Cheeseburger
Well, yesterday afternoon Max & Me battled with our Texas Uncle over a McDonald's Bacon Cheeseburger. He kept telling us he was under strict orders not to give us any cheeseburgers. Max & Me were not happy.
It was one thing to tell us there would be no cheeseburgers for us, but to make matters worse our dear Uncle left for awhile and came back with 2 things from McDonald's, a Chicken Sandwich and a Bacon Cheeseburger. Our uncle proceeded to eat our favorite thing in front of us. Max & Me felt taunted and teased. It was awful.
We showed our Uncle our displeasure by waking him up at 3am and insisting we needed to go outdoors. We didn't really need to. Then we hid til he came out looking for us. It was great fun.
Then later, when the sun came up, we heard our Uncle in the kitchen making coffee. We waited til he was back downstairs laying on the floor drinking his coffee and reading the paper, and then we ran downstairs as fast as we could and mobbed him. Max & Me made a mess of his paper and there may have been some coffee spillage. Max & Me were chased back upstairs.
As you can see, it's become a battle zone here. Max & Me are loving it. Except for the cheeseburger issues.

Hiking the Beach with our Texas Uncle
Last night Max & Me took our uncle and Kristin and Michele to Owens Beach at Point Defiance Park for a long hike. It was fun. There were a lot of other dogs and kids for Max & Me to interact with. Where is Blue???
This is Max blogging solo for once. I was out in the backyard working on my suntan. But Blue was nowhere to be found. Our uncle almost caught the entire incident on tape....
Max Worn Out By Our Uncle
Our uncle chased Max & Me this morning. That was tiring. Then our uncle got hungry, so Max & Me stuck him at the end of our leashes and led him to McDonald's, where he had 2 cheeseburgers.
Max & Me are sworn to secrecy about the details of our visit to McDonald's. Suffice to say, by the time we got back here Max had to pass out and take a nap while watching over and over the video of us chasing our uncle this morning.
Max & Me wonder what's in store for us the rest of the week.

Max & Me Got A Haircut

Tomorrow Max & Me are going to the airport to pick up our uncle from Texas.
Max & Me are hoping our uncle is bringing us a Texas cheeseburger. We don't care if it's a McDonald's one or not.
Max & Me were doing some research on the computer and we found out there is a place called Whataburger, in Texas, that is supposed to make real good cheeseburgers. At the Whataburger website you can enter your zip code and it'll tell you the nearest Whataburger. Max & Me entered our uncle's zip code and found out there is a Whataburger real close.
So, Max & Me are hoping tomorrow we get to see a Texas cheeseburger from Whataburger.

Cowboy Max & Cowboy Blue
Max & Me are starting to look forward to picking up our favorite uncle at the airport on Sunday. Sure, it'll be past our usual bedtime, but that's okay.
Max & Me have been taking turns wearing the cowboy hat our uncle sent us. It falls off our heads to easy, because it's too small. Max & Me aren't complaining, though, we love our cowboy hat.
Yesterday Max & Me helped a guy put ceiling fans up. It was a lot of work keeping an eye on that guy and making sure he did everything correctly.
Max & Me and Kristin and Michele went kayaking yesterday at Owens Beach. That was fun. Max & Me thought we heard the girls talking about going to McDonald's afterwards, but that didn't happen, so Max & Me are in Day 28 in a row of no cheeseburgers.

Our Favorite Day of the Week.
Today Michele is home alone with Max & Me. That makes Wednesday our favorite day of the week.
This morning I helped Michele water the plants, while Max took a nap. Michele thinks it's funny to squirt water at me. I don't find it very funny. I do not like getting wet.
Now, Max, on the other hand, likes getting water squirted at him. When we go to the beach Max runs out in the water til a wave scares him. Me, I stay away from the water's edge.
Max & Me are hoping Michele will take us somewhere fun today. Maybe the beach. Max & Me have sort of given up hope that Michele and Kristin will ever take us to McDonald's for a cheeseburger ever again. Max & Me are starting to forget what a cheeseburger tastes like.

Max & Me Aren't Home Alone Anymore
Michele and Kristin are back with Max & Me, home from that Class Reunion we told you about.
Michele won't show Max & Me any photos from the reunion unless we promise not to Blog them.
Max & Me feel this is an infringment on our freedom of expression. Max is showing you how he feels about this in the photo.
It's only 5 days til our uncle from Texas shows up here in Tacoma. And then 4 days after that our Grandma and Grandpa from Phoenix will be here.
So, it looks like it is going to be some time before Max & Me get the peace and quiet of being home alone again.
Max & Me are pretty certain that our favorite uncle will take us to McDonald's for cheeseburgers because Michele and Kristin are going to be far far away and there won't be anything they can do to keep us from a cheeseburger til they get back.

Max & Me Are Home Alone!
Kristin and Michele have left Max & Me home alone for the weekend! It is so nice having the house all to ourselves. So peaceful and quiet.
Don't worry about us getting a sunburn again. We just got on our beach blanket, again, to take a picture to show you how happy we are being. Max is being a brat, sticking his tongue out at the camera.
So? You're wondering why Max & Me are home alone. Well, Michele has something called a reunion this weekend. Max & Me aren't sure, but it sounded something like her 40th High School Reunion. If she's already gone to 40 of these things, Max & Me think they must be a lot of fun.
This Reunion thing takes place up in a place called Burlington. Friday night it was a party at some place called The Sports Keg. And then tonight it's at our cousin Jason's golf course.
Max & Me are sort of upset. We looked at Michele's Reunion website and on Sunday they are having a Family Day. So, why aren't Max & Me going to be there for that? Our feelings would be hurt if we weren't having so much fun being home alone.

Max & Me Are Sunburned & Winning A Million Bucks From McDonald's
Max & Me got a bit of a sunburn yesterday. Michele and Kristin knew we were going to be sunbathing on our beach blanket on our backyard deck. But they forgot to put our poodle suntan lotion, SPF 60, on our delicate noses.
So, this morning our noses are being a bit painful. Michele rubbed aloe vera on our noses this morning and that has helped a little bit.
Max & Me think we'll stay inside today and work on our latest project.
Last night we were watching a re-run of Ugly Betty and there was a new McDonald's commercial. Our favorite part of watching TV is the McDonald's commercials. Why are there no watermelon commercials on TV?
So, the McDonald's commercial was all about winning a million bucks. With a million bucks Max & Me think we can break out of this joint and find someone who would be willing to let us have a McDonald's Cheeseburger whenever we want, in exchange for the million bucks.
To win our million Max & Me have to memorize the McDonald's jingle in the below video. So far we are not having much luck with it. But we'll keep on trying.

Our Wednesday With Michele
Wednesday is Max & Me's favorite day of the week because we get Michele all to ourselves all day long. Til Kristin gets home. Michele isn't as strict with Max & Me as Kristin is. Michele lets us watch anything we want on TV.
Yesterday we all worked out in yard. It was a hot day. After lunch Max & Me went to the TV room, turned on the fan, got up on our TV bed and used the remote to turn on the TV and watch our soaps.
When Kristin got home we all got scolded because the dishes weren't washed. And then Kristin BBQed chicken. We ate outside. Max & Me got some chicken and watermelon. Why doesn't McDonald's have watermelon? Does anyone make watermelon milkshakes? Watermelon ice cream? Watermelon popsicles? Watermelon soda pop? Watermelon poodle treats?
In the evening Max & Me watched some TV, mostly a show about poodle grooming called Sheer Genius. It was interesting, except the poodle groomers were grooming people instead of poodles. We'd been misled.
Did we tell you last week Max & Me found this show on Animal Planet called Meerkat Manor? It's all about these little squirrel like critters in some place called Africa. Meerkats look funner than the cats we've seen. Meerkat Manor is on again Friday night. I hope Max & Me remember to watch.

Max & Me & TV
Max & Me have been told we watch too much TV.
Max & Me aren't picky about what we watch. We'll even watch baseball if it's on TV. Even the Seattle Mariners, though Max & Me prefer to watch a winning team.
During the day, Max & Me watch a few soap operas. Our favorites are Young and the Restless and All My Children.
Last night Max & Me watched the Hell's Kitchen finale. We're glad Christina won. Christina reminds Max & Me of Kristin. In the photo, that's Kristin and me watching Hell's Kitchen. Max had left the room to get a drink.
After Max & Me finished watching Hell's Kitchen, we switched over to Bravo and watched Flipping Out. It is really funny to watch. This guy, named Jeff, has 3 dogs, some awful cats and 3 pet deer.
The best part of the night came during Hell's Kitchen. There was a McDonald's ad. The ad did not show a cheeseburger, but it sure made Max & Me think of one.

Max & Me BBQing
Max & Me are in such a good mood this morning. Last night, when Michele got home after her long ordeal with the little Beagle dog, she was so happy to see Max & Me that we all went to our favorite Tacoma McDonald's last night and had Cheeseburgers!
Max & Me had Cheeseburgers, we mean, Michele and Kristin had a lot of other stuff.
Michele had a Big Mac, Large Fries, Filet-O-Fish Sandwich, a Southwest Salad with Crispy Chicken, a large Strawberry Milkshake and an Applie Pie. Kristin had a Asian Salad with Grilled Chicken, a Honey Mustard Snack Wrap & Diet Coke.
While, like we already said, Max & Me shared a Cheeseburger. And were happy about it.
Max & Me are also in a good mood because of the new BBQer we got on our backyard deck. Max & Me think, maybe, we'll be able to figure out how to cook our own cheeseburgers.
How hard can it be?

Michele and the Beagle
Michele just emailed Max & Me to tell us something that happened today. Max & Me thinks it's an important story for pet people everywhere.
Here's Michele's email----
On way into work, there were some people loving up a dog in the parking lot. Then they started to go inside, and told the dog to be good and not to get run over. I asked whose dog and they said they did not know, they just found her in the parking lot. I took her inside, one of the ladies took the drawstring out of her coat for me to use as a leash - the dog had a nice collar, but no tags. So I took her to my office and called the shelter. The opened at 9:30, so I had a while to wait. We had some treats and she drank a bunch of water, then she laid in my office, on the blanket that you boys use when you are here. Anyhow, she was so calm and quiet and cute. She is an older Beagle with her tail docked. I took her to the shelter and they scanned her and she is microchipped. It came back to a vet's office, and the vet was going to track down the owner. I was crying by the time I left. She was so sweet. Anyhow, everyone should have a tag with name and number on their dog - and be microchipped. Because the Beagle has now been reunited with her very happy and relieved owners.

Max & Me Went To A New Beach
On Saturday Max & Me had the most fun we've had in a long long time. We got to go across that scary Tacoma Narrows Suspension Bridge again. That's that bridge we told you about before, that fell down a long time ago.
We crossed the scary bridge because Max & Me were taking Michele and Kristin to this place called Kopachuck State Park to go check out the place where we're going to go to kayak school.
Max led the way on our hike to the beach. He found an adventurous alternative route from the main trail.
When we got to the beach, Max & Me had a great time climbing all over the giant pieces of wood. Kristin forgot to take our camera with her, so we've got no pictures of our Saturday adventure. Max & Me are considering firing Kristin from her job as the chief photo documentarian of the Adventures of Max & Me.
When we were done playing on the beach Max led us back to the car via a different trail. It was real muddy, so Max & Me had a great time getting really dirty. Max & Me like getting really dirty. At one point Max went right into a muddy sinkhole and couldn't get out. Kristin had to lift him out by his butt. It was pretty funny and Max was totally covered in really smelly mud. It was great.
By the time we got back to the car Michele and Kristin said Max & Me were too dirty to get in the car. So, they forced Max & Me under a water faucet by the park's restrooms. It was very cold water. Max & Me were not happy. We don't know why Michele and Kristin make such a big deal over a little dirt.
And then we got home Michele gave Max & Me another bath! Two baths in one day. That's ridiculous. Max & Me had been sort of hoping that we'd end up at McDonald's for a cheeseburger yesterday. We drove by 3 McDonald's, but didn't stop at any of them. After our bath we did get a chicken treat, though. We like the chicken treats. But they are no cheeseburger.

Max & Me Hate Firecrackers
Max & Me like to take turns sitting on Kristin's lap. It is more fluffy than the couch. And warmer.
Max & Me did not enjoy last night. It was very noisy. Michele told Max & Me that people were setting off something called firecrackers to celebrate our Declaration of Indepedence. How did so many people know that Max & Me Declared our Independence yesterday?
There is still so much that Max & Me don't understand.

A Happy 4th Of July Poodle Declaration of Independence
Max & Me are still feeling shocked at being told, by Kristin, that our kind is not allowed in National Parks. Max & Me feel oppressed. And so Max & Me have decided to rebel. And so we are issuing our Poodle Declaration of Independence.
When in the course of poodle events, it becomes necessary for poodles to dissolve the political bonds which have connected them with others, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of poodlekind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.
Max & Me hold these truths to be self evident, that poodles and people are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. That to secure these rights, governments are instituted, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. That whenever any form of government becomes destructive to these ends, it is the right of the poodles to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety and happiness.
And there you have it. Max & Me's Declaration of Independence. Max & Me have no idea what happens next. All we know is that now that we have declared our right to pursue happiness it would make us very happy to have a McDonald's Cheeseburger this 4th of July, while we watch fireworks on the Tacoma waterfront.

Walking And Dancing Poodles
Kristin and Michele got new walking shoes yesterday. So, last night Max & Me got to take them on a walk. Why don't Max & Me get walking shoes? Michele and Kristin make us walk barefoot.
Max likes to walk more than I do. He just goes and goes. After about 2 miles I'm worn out.
But, usually Michele wears out before me, so it's not a problem. Michele and Me will just sit down for awhile while Max and Kristin continue walking.
Yesterday afternoon, Max & Me talked to our bad-mannered cousins, Rosie the Rat Dog and Bean and learned that they've been to National Parks, including Mount Rainer.
So, Kristin lied to us yesterday when she told us our kind is not allowed in National Parks. We can go, we just can't go walking on trails because we might get into a fight with a grizzly bear or a cougar. This makes sense to Max & Me.
Speaking of pet peeves us pet poodles have with some humans, one of our major pet peeves is Max & Me do not approve of humans pretending to be poodles. It is offensive to us. The below video is a good example. Not only are the humans pretending to be poodles. They are pretending to be singing and dancing poodles. How would they like it if Max & Me pretended to be singing and dancing humans?

Poodle Discrimination
Today is usually a fun day for Max & Me. Michele is home on Wednesdays. Today is Kristin's birthday. Max & Me planned a party.
But, we've canceled the Kristin birthday party. Not only did Michele and Kristin go out for lunch on the waterfront. Without taking Max & Me. Before Michele and Kristin left for lunch Kristin said something awful to us.
Max & Me have been wanting to go to see Mount Rainier. It's in something called a National Park. Kristin told Max & Me that our kind is not welcome in National Parks.
Our kind? Sweet, little, lovable poodles are not welcome? Well, Max & Me don't want to go anymore, if that's how people feel about us.
The only way for Michele and Kristin to get back in the good graces of Max & Me, today, is if they take us on a fun walk tonight. But, even if they do do that, there will be no party, as far as Max & Me are concerned.
Max & Me want watermelon and a McDonald's Cheeseburger. That'd be a party for us.
Max & Me Want To Hike A Washington Mountain

This morning Max & Me were looking at Uncle Durango's Blog where we learned he has taken our four cousins, Jason, Joey, Christopher and Jeremy on hikes up mountains here in Washington.
In his blog Uncle Durango says he is bringing his hiking boots with him and he hopes to get to go hiking up a mountain.
Well. Max & Me want to go on record, right now, that if Uncle Durango goes on a hike up a mountain when he is here he better take along the two nephews he's not taken up a mountain. Yes, that means Max & Me want to go mountain climbing.
We Like Watermelon
Max & Me have a new neighbor, Fi Fi La Foo. She is the skinniest poodle Max & Me have ever seen. And she's a real loud barker. Fi Fi is a bit of a pest, actually.
But Fi Fi taught Max & Me a good thing last night. We had dinner outside on the picnic table. Michele and Kristin had some of this stuff we later learned is called watermelon.
Michele and Kristin went in the house for a bit and Fi Fi got up on the table and started eating some watermelon off Michele's plate. Max & Me know this is a big no-no.
But Fi Fi made it look so good. Watermelon looks so different than a cheeseburger, it would never even cross the minds of Max & Me to give it a try. But we decided we had to give watermelon a taste test.
I guarded the door while Max got up on the table and took a bite. He nodded his head towards me signalling approval. Then Max came and guarded the door while I got up on the table. I'd barely taken a bite when Max gave a warning bark. I quickly jumped off the table and was on the deck when the door opened and out came Kristin and Michele, catching Fi Fi with her nose in Michele's watermelon.
Fi Fi got scolded and was sent home. Meanwhile, Max & Me need to find a way to get some more watermelon. We were researching watermelon on the internet and found this....

Uncle D Is On His Way To See Us!!!!
Max & Me learned this morning that our Uncle Durango from Texas is coming to see us. For sure!
Our favorite uncle hasn't met Max yet. So, Max doesn't really know yet that he's his favorite uncle.
The last time our uncle was here he introduced us to a new playmate, named Pal. That is Pal in the picture, playing on the beach at Point Defiance, here in Tacoma.
Max & Me played at Point Defiance beach a couple days ago.
That big white thing, behind Pal, is this thing called a mountain. Our uncle told us people in Texas don't know what a mountain is. This mountain is named Rainier. It's a volcano. They blow up sometimes.
Our uncle told us the town he lives in doesn't have waterfronts like our town does. So they are making a fake lake out of a river. That seems strange to Max & Me, here in Tacoma there is water pretty much everywhere you look. Our uncle lives at a Fort called Worth. There's a Fort at Point Defiance too. It's called, Fort Nisqually. Max & Me are learning so much.
Max & Me think we are going to be starring in some videos in a few weeks. That should be fun.
Max & Me are pretty sure we'll be able to talk our uncle into taking us to McDonald's for Cheeseburgers. That is, if he wants to remain being our favorite uncle we see a cheeseburger in our future. In the meantime Max & Me found a new song about our favorite food.
